Airing of the Quilts

To honor the tradition of the Airing of the Quilts, Cashiers Historical Society  will have on display quilts from area quilters, as well as quilts from the Appalachian Women’s Museum and the Mountain Valley Quilters who are responsible for the “Quilts of Valor” for veteran’s and first responders.

Boys and Girls Club Mayfest
Saturday, May 11 | 12 - 3pm

Mayfest is a free, family-friendly event.  On May 11 from 12 - 3 p.m. Frank Allen Road in Cashiers  will be closed to traffic and the street will be filled with free food and fun family-friendly activities. Specific activities include a helicopter ball drop, live music, games, crafts, and much more!

High Falls Dam Release

The dam at Lake Glenville is released periodically throughout the year transforming High Falls from a gentle giant into the incredible hulk. There are two access points for High Falls. One right next to Glenville Dam and another just a couple miles down the road.

The High Falls Trail is a 3.7 mile out and back trail located near at the Lake Glenville dam. (See map below) There is ample parking at the trail head. This hike features the High Falls waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. During water release kayakers use the trail to carry their gear to the river below.
