ABOUT THE WILDFLOWERS
Now in their 12th year together, The Wildflowers have become the most successful internationally touring tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Playing all the hits of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tom Petty’s solo music, and even The Traveling Wilburys thrown in for good measure, with such precision, energy, and authentic southern charm, you have to see and hear The Wildflowers to believe it.

Sapphire Valley's Fairfield Lake is the most picturesque recreation facility in Western North Carolina!

alt tag

This is a Sapphire Valley Master Association Amenity.

Fairfield Lake is approximately 80 acres in size, 1 mile long and 35' deep at the deepest part.

The lake built in 1895. Before this it was a secluded watershed valley where gold and precious gems were mined. Georgetown Mine was the name of the mining 'town' and remains of the mining operations were flooded and remain to this day on the bottom of the lake.

You can canoe and explore the unbounded nature along the lake's shoreline, search for the perfect fishing hole (A North Carolina fishing license is required) in one of the fishing boats, or give your legs a workout in a paddle boat.

For even more fun on Fairfield Lake, try one of our Stand Up Paddleboards!

The Zachary-Tolbert House is now open for tours every Friday & Saturday!

The Zachary-Tolbert House is now open for tours every Friday & Saturday!

Virtually unaltered from when it was built 150+ years ago, this eight-room house is the perfect example of a vernacular, Greek Revival residential structure with a rear kitchen dependency. Greek Revival-style architecture was rare in Western North Carolina and this home was used as a boarding house in the Zachary era.

Tours will be available from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm on Friday & Saturday and by appointment Monday - Thursday. Tours will be given at the top of the hour.

Children’s activities will be available so pack your lunch, tour campus, walk our trails, relax at the picnic tables or under the Pavilion, and let the kids play on our five-acre campus this season!

For appointments, please call # 828-743-7710 or email info@cashiershistoricalsociety.org.

Our campus is located at:

1940 HWY 107 S

Cashiers, NC 28717

Groovin' On the Green featuring Kevin Daniel + The Bottom Line

alt tag

A dynamic performer, playing 100-150 shows per year, Kevin Daniel’s music has been described as “radio and TV ready with enough darkness creeping in around the edges to appeal to fans of Jason Isbell & Langhorne Slim.” On his two early EPs, his 2019 debut album Things I Don’t See, and his 2021 follow-up, Been Here Before, Daniel showcases a masterful ability as a songwriter to seamlessly incorporate bits of rock, soul, country, blues, roots and Appalachia into thoughtful examination of pain and awakenings, visceral and spiritual. A big-voiced crooner with a heart of gold, Kevin strikes a chord with “his raw and soulful, Chris Stapleton-esque timbre.”

Groovin’ on The Green is held rain or shine from 6-8:30pm on the Common’s Lawn. This is a FREE community event; no registration is necessary. Bring your dancing shoes, lawn chairs, picnics and cooler for a night of unforgettable musical experiences! Dogs are welcome if they are leashed and with their owners at all times.

Food and beverage vendors will be onsite during the event!

Donations are collected by The Village Green during the event to help offset event costs and to be able to continue to offer Groovin’ on The Green for FREE. The Village Green is a 501c3 nonprofit public park system that relies solely on donations to bring the community events we have all come to cherish. TVG receives zero funds from Jackson County, the state of NC, or the Federal Park System. We thank you for supporting The Village Green!
